The type of lighting that has been used in this image is Low-key lighting as all that is being used by way of light in the lamp shining down onto the desk, The effect that this puts on the image is the fact that the lamp has only been turned on so he can see the blood on his face and nothing else, this could suggest he is in a rush.
The lamp is the key light in this photograph.
The type of lighting that has been used in this image is also low-key lighting as the only source of lighting is coming from the lights at the back of the car and most of the man's body has no lighting on him, This could suggest that the man has stolen the car and he is standing in front of the person that he is confessing it to, the man isn't in a position of authority at this point, the car is what is most important due to the lamp shining down onto it and the car light at the back being on.
The Lamp shining down upon the car is the backlight in this image
The type of lighting that has been used in the image would be high-key lighting as the lighting is coming from the ceiling light in the background there also seems to be more lighting from elsewhere, the men in the image are also well-lit, The effects of them both being lit up equally shows that they are on a level playing field and no one is higher than the other.
The key light in this image is the ceiling lights
The lighting that has been used in the picture is Low-key lighting the only light source that has been used is the candles on the table, This would suggest that the girl is the centre of attention. firstly she is between the parents also the fact that the lighting is focusing on her shows that she is being spoken to or told off.
The key lighting in this photo is the candles that are shining down on the girl.
In this photograph the setting is what looks to be around a mountain range, snowy and a rough climate, the father looks as though he has collected his daughter from school and he has been at work due to the formal attire. Both of their hairs seem to be all over the place this could be due to the windy conditions. The facial expressions looked shocked and worried and the body language seemed as though they were intimidated by something that they saw in the distance. The colours in this photograph are dull but there seems to be a key light facing them which gives the audience the effect that they are looking at something, the characters are in the centre of the screen to demonstrate authority as they are the only people around
In this image the setting is what looks to be a back garden, which looks chilly and dull, the man looks as though he is trying to do something on his computer yet he has seen something maybe in a tree or the sky. He is wearing smart casual clothes which could suggest that he works from home, he wants comfort without looking lazy. His hair looks presentable too. His facial expressions look unbothered and his body language is very relaxed due to him having his legs folded and laid out flat. The man in the photo is the main point of reference and has a depth of view which gives the audience the feeling that he is the main part of the photo, In terms of the lighting the light from the laptop seems to be reflecting back onto him.
This image, looks to me like a snowy climate with the boy in the water and the girl lying out facing him, There is snow in the hair which is the giveaway that they are in a snowy climate, they are both still fully clothed, the facial expressions look serious as though it is a very intermit moment between them whilst also looking cold and emotional. the colour of the image is blue and there is light shining behind both of them which would more than likely be coming from the sun. The girl has a higher position of authority in this photo as she is at a higher point.
This photo, is set on a boat with a sunny and warm climate, the woman is wearing some kind of scarf around her waist and the main is wearing something casual this would suggest that they could be on a date. The facial expressions display love happiness and enjoyment. the body language is intimacy with the man's hands on her waist, the colour in the image is warm and the lighting is made from the sun as seen in the background of this image. The positioning of the characters in the photo shows the man is putting the girl in a position of authority as she is standing in front of him.

TYPOGRAPHIC RULES FOR MAGAZINE DESIGN (Anette)
ENTRY POINTS
Firstly, Define clear entry points, entry points help readers to stay engaged and prompt one to read the article, this can include headings, titles or pull quotes.
READABILITY
To make the readability of the text good you should always measure your line length ideal each of the lines should be between 45 and 90 characters.
ALIGNMENT
Alignment is fundamental in good typography in general aligning left is the most common way to set type as readers tend to read from left to right.
PARAGRAPHS
When you do work with a block of text, you should apply a visual break between each paragraph.
PAIRING FONTS
Pairing fonts that work well together is crucial for good typography, so when pairing fonts try and add contrast but it is important to align their heights.
CAPITALS
Finally, using all caps is a big no when it comes to editorial design, Although it can work well on titles, headings or even pull quotes it is best to avoid all caps on the body as it can make reading feel very uncomfortable.

Annotate and Analyse a magazine cover (Anette)
Magazine cover:
For this magazine cover, The heading is in a sans-serif font, This is one of the main points of reference for the magazine cover apart from the image of the girl in the centre. The text on the magazine is very bold and easily noticeable to the eye.
This magazine cover has a very sleek and simple layout with the main point of focus being the woman in the centre, the costume is all white which gives her a look of elegance, her body language is upright and her facial expressions are very neutral.
The colours that are involved are grey and white, and the language that is used is both formal and informal but the aim of the magazine cover is to attract the audience into understanding what the future of beauty and fashion looks like.
Magazine inside double page:
For the inside spread, no image is a point of focus, there is a title in the sans typeface that is vertical down the left-hand side of the page, There is a lot of writing with small mini images that accompany them
I would say that the layout of this inside spread isn't very well organised as the images are all over the place. It is also very plain with not much colour going on.
The colours that are in this double-page spread are white black and then an array of small colours from the photos.

TRIP TO THE NATIONAL GALLERY(Anette)
This was a water feature outside of the National Gallery as you can see in the back, I thought that this was definitely worthy of a picture as it added some good atmosphere and design because surrounded the National Gallery.
This Image is from the National Gallery, Located in central London, Trafalgar Square. Is in an iconic building in London dating back years. Inside it is the home of some of the most famous art pieces in the world from artists many many years ago.
This is one of the ancient pieces of art that go back thousands of years generations ago.
This was one piece of art that we saw that is extremely old yet looks so modern in ways from the blue colours etc.
ADOBE INDESIGN EXPERIMENTATION (Anette)
So Far, We have been experimenting with using Adobe In design making a double-page magazine spread. We have added next, A heading an introduction and an overall understanding of the properties that constitute a magazine. We have been learning this software which is a page layout programme and this is what I have formulated thus far.
This is what My final trial magazine inside spread looked like, as you can see there is a progression from the picture above including a photo and some different fonts.

WEBSITE ANALYSIS AND CRITIQUE(Yasmin)
This first website, The aim of it is to show past interior design projects to promote the company and the brand and present it in the best way possible from the outside looking in.
The graphics and design on the website a very minimal design with an easily accessible layout to navigate. There are many photos on the website displaying the projects that have been done.
there are links on the website to Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Twitter
The Nike website, It is there to sell Nike products from all different ranges. The website has a clean black and white design, very easy to navigate and find products, easy checkout system in order to be able to purchase things online. there is minimal text on this website but the text that is given gives a great account of what the products are and what you should expect. the reason it is good is because it has got a good colour scheme very easy to navigate and easy on the eye, this would
The Apple website is a very good and well-designed website with a clean layout, Apple is the protagonist in the technology industry so they must have a good website with a straightforward navigation system, if the website is not easy to navigate someone will click off the website and lose interest quickly.
This is the first example of a bad website, it is slow, badly designed and has a poor navigation system. It has bad legibility in terms of visibility and you can hardly see the writing.
This website has a very slow loading time and is not laid out well, the fonts are not very legible for the website and do not catch the attention of the viewers.
Lastly, This website has got so many different colours it is hard to concentrate on and you don't know where to look first, it is so unorganised and the layout is horrendous, the navigation system is completely confusing and very difficult to understand if someone went on this website they would click on it and then go off when they have found out what a mess it is.
MAGAZINE EXPERIMENTATION(Yasmin)
This was one idea I had which was New York which I am no longer doing but the main property that I want to have for my magazine cover is the fact that there has to be a nice clear typeface, it has to be imaginative and catch the audience's eye.

OPENING SCENE ANALYSIS (JOELLA)
Film Genre: Crime
DEN OF THIEVES (2018)
Firstly in the opening scene of this crime movie, it is clear that there is one particular protagonist which is the gang who was able to take out the police. The weaponry that is involved in this are guns and there were some bombs and smoke bombs, The outfits involved were full black suits with gas masks probably due to using highly toxic chemicals. The transport used were cars and vans. The characters were stereotypical for their movie role, the police were middle-aged men whilst the gang's ages were unknown. For the location, it seemed to be a run-down car park in front of a supermarket.
EXPOSITION:
The exposition in this opening scene is displayed through conflict. The conflict is physical and it is between one gang and what seems to be the police or a defence squad, the gang in this instance with the masks on were the protagonists. The writer of the movie constructed the conflict through the protagonists wanting something or someone and then having the challenge of not allowing that to happen.
THE GENTLEMEN
In the opening scene of The Gentlemen, there is so little yet so much going on. it isn't clear yet who the protagonist is as we do not know anything about the person who shot the man. The weaponry involved here was a gun. The outfits were smart like a suit considering the setting was a pub. There was no transport used as of yet and the age of the man looked to be early 50s yet the other man was of an unknown age.
EXPOSITION:
In the opening scene of The Gentleman, the exposition is displayed through conflict, The conflict is physical and non-physical, the action of what happened was physical as the man sitting at the pub got killed but the reason for that happening we do find out yet if it was something physical or non-physical, the writer of the gentleman does a great job of constructing it. The killer at the pub is in a clear position of authority and we don't actually know what the reason is for the shooting.
BABY DRIVER
In this opening scene of The Baby Driver, the main protagonist is the boy driving the car as he is the one who was able to get them out of trouble, the weapons that were used in the armed robbery were guns and the vehicles that were used as a car, the outfits that were used for the robbers were suits whilst the baby driver was wearing everyday clothes, very standard. The robbers were 2 men and a woman, young probably late 20's. whilst the boy who was driving the car would have been around 19-20. It was set in a city.
EXPOSITION:
In the opening scene of The Baby Driver, the exposition is displayed through conflict and intense action, it is non-physical, the writer of the movie constructed the conflict by creating an amazing scene with a car chase with a boy driving the car who seems at first just like a schoolboy but then he turned into someone who looked like he had been driving for 70 years.

RESEARCH CREATIVE MAGAZINE PRACTITIONER(Anette)
My chosen creative practitioner is David Carson
David Carson is a prominent contemporary graphic designer and art director. His unconventional and experimental graphic style revolutionised the graphic designing industry during the 1990s in America. On September 8th 1954 Carson was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. He then went on to study sociology at San Diego State University and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree.
Carson was best known for changing the graphic design industry in America in the '90s and also was the art director for the magazine 'Ray Gun' in which he introduced innovative typographies
Some examples of Carson's Work:
My Opinion of David Carson's Work:
What I like about all of these designs collectively is the fact that they are all different in their own right and don't really display any of the same properties, I really like the abstract feel that they bring, the typographic isn't your classic typographic some of the words are not in line and slightly all over the place but i think that this is good for what they are as it would more than likely attract the audience more if it something unusual.

CREATING A WORLD WIDE WEB TIMELINE(Yasmin)
- The World Wide Web was founded in 1989 as a CERN project called ENQUIRE and was initiated by British scientist Tim Berners-Lee.
- In 1990 the world's first website went live a CERN running on Tim Berners-lee NEXT computer and has the message ''This machine is a server, DO NOT POWER DOWN''!. This was when the first web browser was created and named it World Wide Web.
- In 1993 CERN placed its WWW technology out into the public domain, donating it to the world.
- One of the first known web purchases was made which was a pepperoni and mushroom pizza from Pizza Hut
- By 1995 18 million homes are now online but only 3% of online users have ever signed onto the world wide web
- In 1997, Netflix launched which sends DVDs in the bin as well and Google registered it as a domain
- Jumping to 2002, 55 Million people now go online from work and 44% of those who have internet access at work say their use of internet helps them at work.
- My space, LinkedIn, Skype and Apple iTunes store all launched in 2003

WEBSITE FLOW CHART(Yasmin)
This planning document was essential in planning for my website creation, this is because it is important to understand where everything is going to go and to stay organised, I want to create something that looks good but is also able to be easily navigated so that there is no confusion and so that it is not a reason of reduced customer traffic;

Magazine Final Double Page Design(Anette)
My Double Magazine content page was created on Adobe In Design, We created the grids so it was able to have the same layout as a magazine, I then started by choosing my Masthead and using that as the Title of the magazine spread, then made sure to change the colour of the masthead and the section of writing underneath, these are some of the properties of a magazine cover, including a pull quote which is seen on two occasions on my magazine spread with a few different photos to give it some life.

PRESENTATION OF RESEARCH, IDEAS AND PLANNING (Yasmin)
This PowerPoint presentation provides a clear idea of what I am going to do for my area of investigation, I have a few reasons for going for my particular area. Firstly, I have a big interest in football and have a wide range of knowledge about it and understand some of the ins and outs in certain areas. Secondly, I am an avid watcher of football and go to different games whether it is home or away, I have a lot of original imagery which in this course they look for a lot.

HTML AND CSS(Annette)
HTML and CSS are different markup languages used to create a web page in applications, They almost act as the building blocks for websites, the text that you see on pages is saved in HTML but viewed through a web browser.
As you can see on the page this is where you would add text and a heading and then the codes would formulate into a website

UX AND UI DESIGNS(Annette)
User experience design defines the experience a user would go through when interacting with a company, its services and its products. User experience design is a user-centred approach because it considers the user's experience when using the product or platform.
User interface design or user interface engineering is the design of user interfaces for machines and software, such as computers, home appliances, mobile devices and other electronics, with a focus on maximising usability and the user experience.
Tips for best mobile UX:
Blend useful and intuitive experiences
make user interfaces visual
cut out the clutter
navigation should be simple
build for one-handed operation
the appearance of speed matters
no web experience

LOCATION RECCE(Joella)
The purpose of this location Recce is to give information on where the opening scene is going to be filmed, what we are going to need, if it is again going to affect anything in terms of loudness or location
RISK ASSESSMENT(Joella)
The use of the risk assessment is to be able to identify to work out the risks of what we are doing with the opening scene and what could potentially happen if someone hurts themselves, this is a common thing in a place of work when putting on an event, or filming something you have to work out what could go wrong what is at risk.
SWOT ANALYSIS(Joella)
The best thing about doing a SWOT analysis is that you can clearly identify what you are good at and what you need to improve on. it really allows you to improve on things for next time which is so valuable./

XD RECORDING (Annette)
In the recording of my app prototype, as you can see the app has got a front page with a very clean design, the features are a button on the front page to be able to easily access and navigate through the app, as you can see when pressing this is moving you to the second page where you have the option to be able to but furniture.
MIND MAP AND MOOD BOARD FOR APP(Annette)
For my app mind map, I wanted to outline and detail the main things that will constitute and make my app great, it has to have a good navigation system to entice the audience into staying on the app, and we want to make sure that the audience understands our purpose of doing the app and getting a message across trying to teach people and further their knowledge in this space, we also want to make it interactive by making a quiz every day and also a podcast which is free to listen to on all major podcast platforms like Spotify and apple podcasts.
For my app mood board, I want to create something that is appealing to the eye and looks really good to
the audience so that it drives people to want to stay on the app for an extended period.

WEBSITE AND MAGAZINE RESEARCH
my website and magazine will be distributed to large football media outlets where they can get promoted and can access the public domain easily, somewhere that people can be engaged, a very important factor is marketing as we want to become one of the largest football magazines and provide people with new and useful information they might not have got elsewhere.
In terms of the position of marketing you need to think about the time of day that it is being promoted and are the right demographic going to be able to see it at that particular moment, is the type of marketing correct, it is going to be useful for this all to be promoted on television or would it be better on social media?
For the articles in the magazine is it more often than not very small writing as you want to fit in lots and lots of information which is very common for magazines.

MAGAZINE CONTENT SPREAD FINAL (ANNETTE)
For my content spread I used Adobe Design, the reason behind using this soft is that they have an amazing range of tools to create a magazine page, I wanted to create something here that looked sleek very fitted in with the same style that I have seen going for all along with the big title and warped lettering.

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY WEBSITE RESEARCH
These are two examples of websites that I have looked at to get a good idea of my own, I really like the use of the layout on both of these web pages and both of them have interactive elements where videos can play which is one feature that I have used for myself, I think that this is important to keep the audience engaged and keep them on the website, the navigation systems are also very easy to get around nothing is out of reach and it is so simple to find what you want with a search bar included to be able to short cut things, the websites are not crammed and less is more in this instance.
WEBSITE SKETCH
For my website sketch, I wanted to create something rough that gave me a good idea of the direction of where I wanted my website to go in terms of the layout of where everything is going whether it's the taskbar or the photos.

EVALUATION OF PRODUCTS
Magazine Evaluation:
My magazine is a fun football-based magazine informing people about different cultures inside of football. My love for football influenced me to do this and this came from going from such a young age with my dad.
My idea was to create something interactive where people could get involved, it was to make it exciting and informative
My Magazine went very well, and I the overall design of it I really like, I feel as though it gets the message across very well and it is of a high standard.
What could have gone better is the fact that I'd have liked to have chosen a better font and maybe the layout of the font
If I was to change something for next time and do it better it would be to choose a better font and potentially improve the layout.
Website Evaluation:
My Website is an innovative website that is based around the topic of football and what it means to people going to games every single weekend, passion, drive and happiness, it also includes a podcast which is currently in the works.
My idea was to create something fresh and new for an audience who want something interesting about football and even a new podcast.
Overall, I thought that my website was one of my strong points as I have shown in the past with other projects, I very much take pride in the way I set them out etc.
But there are always improvements to be made for next time, I think one of the main things that could have gone better is the navigation system layout could have been more straightforward.
If I was to change something for next time I would change the navigation system layout.
APP EVALUATION:
My app is a straightforward easily navigated app that is there to promote the product and the website and to give the audience another option rather than going on the website, the app is smaller than the website and it really only promotes the podcast and some photos.
My idea was to create an app which fitted the purpose of what I was trying to achieve well, keeping it minimal and nothing too crazy and this is the purpose of the website.
Overall, I thought that my app could have been broader and Next time I will add more elements to the website to make it more engaging, this was the first time that I had attempted to create an app and this was a learning curve which will improve me for next time.
If I was to change something for next time it would be to make it more engaging and add more pages to add more elements to the website.

WEBSITE USER TESTING FEEDBACK
WHAT SOME OF MY CLASSMATES HAD TO SAY:
the layout is nice and engaging, you have to use your own images showing the lifestyles of young players playing in the football match. 2. the navigation is simple and straightforward because it will make people find things easier and explore more on the site 3. Yes, it does because the colours will remind young people to think of playing football or want to learn football at a young age, you have given a lot of detail inspiring them to play. 4. maybe add a podcast of your own if so 5. Yes, this will get young people motivated in football.
The layout of the page is very persuasive to the audience on what your website is about. Navigation was easy to use and I had no problems with it. The colour scheme is good with black and white and was constant throughout the website. The website is suitable for young people as they will have an interest in the website. My improvement may be adding a description on the images of what stadium the pictures were taken but very good overall

APP USER TESTING FEEDBACK
QUESTIONS:
Do you like the colour scheme of my app 2? Do you think my app needs to be broader 3. Do you think that it is being presented well 4. What feature do you like the most
WHAT SOME OF MY CLASSMATES HAD TO SAY:
It's a bit bland but it fits the purpose of your app. 2. No, you have created a broad audience that is clearly for football fans and has lots of fun community activities for the purpose of your app. 3. It is presented well but lacks lots of navigation and isn't really an interactive app, but it is informative and looks ok. 4. I like the images you chose for your app They are very engaging but I wish there were more places to explore and click on interactively, overall it's simple and a good app that is easy to use but there could have been more pages of it.
yes, it's good based on football and the team Tottenham Hotspurs and the colour is very suitable for the target audience 2. Yes, you could add more pages for example a massage page and a favourite page for all young footballers 3. It only can be presented well if you add more pages or entertainment. 4. I like that the images you picked really blend with the target audience and the theme and there should be more buttons to click and explore different pages
I value this feedback a lot as it allows me to be able to see what I can improve on next time so for instance one of the feedback wishes that my app was more engaging and had more on the website

AUTER THEORY
An auteur is a filmmaker whose individual style and complete control over all elements of production give a film its personal and unique stamp.” Creating meaning that only he can, using the tools of filmmaking, through the lens of his mind and personality. A bad movie from an auteur was at least the work of artists
3 of the main components of auteur theory:
Technical competence: Auteurs must be at the top of their craft in terms of. technical filmmaking abilities.
Distinguishable personality: What separates auteurs from other technically gifted.
Interior meaning: Auteurs make films that have layers of meaning and have.

OPENING SCENE EVALUATION
My opening scene was created using professional camera equipment which includes a DSLR, Tripod and a microphone and audio recorder but due to unforeseen circumstances was not able to be included in the final edit of my opening scene. My opening scene is about 2 friends who have got a passion for football and on a matchday meet up before the game.
With the help of a few of my classmates i feel as though I have created something very competent and I feel that it has been ordered and comes across well!
The opening scene was created on adobe premiere pro, the raw footage was imported onto the software then carefully sorted through and cut up ready to edit, I made sure the footage included different camera angles from wide angle, over the shoulder and also a panning shot. I included an opening sound track along with a closing one too.
Furthermore, The audio quality in my opening scene could have been better as I was not able to use the external audio which was recorded using a microphone as the mic was not held close enough to the subject therefore there was a lot of muffled wind sound. Thankfully i was able to use the audio which was recorded using the DSLR.
Overall, I think that my opening scene is very solid and I have enjoyed the process of creating it, my favourite parts of it have to be the close up handshake shot which was timed very well, along with the back and forth conversation switching angles
My improvements for next time would have to be to make it longer and challenge myself with a different story line and a different plot.
This opening scene will give me good experience when creating an opening scene for next time as I will have a better knowledge and understanding of what to do.

OPENING SCENE FINAL
DEFINTION OF DIFFERENT SOUNDS
Diegetic sounds: it is any sound that originates from the area that is film, if a character is able to hear the sound, it is diegentic, Dialogue is one of the main types of diegetic sound, but diegetic sound effects range from doors being slammed to cars going by.
Non- Diegetic: it is the opposite sounds that don't come from the story world, these sounds dont appear in the characters sound environment so that they won't be able to hear them, it often sued to show mood or present a clue to an audience.
Soundscape Research
A soundscape is all the audible sound within a specific area. Soundscape can change based on your location. This is because there are different environmental factors and natural sounds that are combined to create that specific soundscape and what you can audibly hear. An acoustic environment is a combination of artificial and natural sounds within one area. The sound design can often be heard in storytelling audio.
Soundtrack
Soundtrack: The soundtrack of a film does include the music, it is not limited to that. In fact, the soundtrack compasses all dialogue as well as ambient sound and sound effect basically all of the sound in a movie.the soundtrack that reaches the general public in the fact a composite track of several tracks that were recorded independently, such. as dialogue track, sound effect track and music track.
Foley sound: Foley is a word commonly used in the filmmaking world and refers to the use of everyday sound effect that are added in the post production of films, videos, or other media to optimize the audio quality.Foley sound is named after the creator of the art form- Jack Foley, Back in the 1920s. the reason why it is important is that it help to create and set the mood and atmosphere of a scene. you can see if you notice sounds are missing, or that they don't match up with what you're watching. Then you will be removed from the moment.
ADR- Automated dialogue replacement: One of the reason is it just one phase of the post production process. This process replaces dialogue recorded on set with dialogue that is recorded in a studio afterward. ADR in film usually happens after the film is edited and after the dialogue editor has lifted through the on-set audio to have a list of cues for the actor to perform. this is most often ADR is done to get a cleaner recording of a line that is due to a reason such as background noise like a passing car or for creative reason example to fix a performance.
Contrapuntal: Contrapuntal sound in film refer to the use of sound element that are in contrast or contradiction with the visuals or the main sound in a scene. These are sounds that are used in conscious contrast to the action that is being shown on the screen. Bring back to the example of the romantic kiss we spoke about earlier, using different sound to the ones that people would expect to see can have dramatic effects on people's emotional response to a scene.
